A 31-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of possession and control of child pornography.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, Roberto Tiro was arrested after a SAPD civilian investigator received several tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Center indicated that Tiro had allegedly used a social media site to upload electronic files containing the banned images.
The investigation indicated that Tiro sent over 600 pornographic images involving young children. A search warrant was served at his home, where it was discovered he was storing approximately 1000 or more sexually explicit files in a data storage device, say police.
The SAPD investigator is a member of the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, dedicated to the investigation and prosecution of persons involved in child abuse and exploitation using the internet.
