Santa Ana police are investigating an apparent homicide that was uncovered by a shrubbery fire.
According to the SAPD, the Orange County Fire Authority – which provides fire and paramedic services to Santa Ana – responded to a blaze at 3:26 a.m. on Thursday along the Santa Ana River riverbed. The fire was quickly put out, but the partially burned body of a male was uncovered in the plants.
The circumstances surrounding the person’s death are being investigated. The identity of the victim is unknown pending identification by the Orange County coroner’s office.
