Cases average around 1,000 daily

New cases of coronavirus in Orange County are now averaging about 1,000 a day, according to the latest report from the county health care agency.

No tally was posted on Thursday because of the Thanksgiving holiday, so the two-day total released today was 1,943 new infections, broken down to 935 on Thursday and 1,008 for Friday. Wednesday’s total was 1,199 and Tuesday’s was at 837.

Deaths over the two-day period are at 18, with 11 on Thursday and seven today.

So far, COVID-19 cases in the OC are at 75,095, of which 59,080 are considered recovered. Total deaths are at 1,577.

Cases now hospitalized are at 506, with 139 of those are being treated in intensive care units.

  • Santa Ana: 14,421 (331)
  • Anaheim: 12,662 (344)
  • Garden Grove: 4,265 (116)
  • Fullerton: 3,596 (113)
  • Orange: 3,563 (73)
  • Huntington Beach: 3,255 (89)

Westminster has 1,603 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 881 cases and 18 deaths.
