OC hospitalizations are rising

While Sunday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency showed a drop of new cases of coronavirus compared to Saturday, it also revealed a continuing rise in hospitalizations and COVID-19 patients being treated in intensive care units.

According to the OCHCA, the count of new cases declined from 1,666 to 1,058 and deaths remained at zero.

However, hospitalizations went from 534 on Saturday to 597 on Sunday. ICU cases rose from 138 to 148.

Cases to date for Orange County are at 77,819; deaths total 1,577.

  • Santa Ana: 14,952 (331)
  • Anaheim: 13,083 (344)
  • Garden Grove: 4,473 (116)
  • Fullerton: 3,713 (113)
  • Orange: 3,700 (73)
  • Huntington Beach: 3,337 (89).

Westminster has 1,687 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 914 cases and 18 deaths.
