A new record high of coronavirus infection was revealed in Saturday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency.
The OCHCA noted 1,666 new cases, besting the old peak of 1,584 reported on Nov. 23. That brings the to-date tally to 76,671 cases.
Zero deaths from COVID-19 were reported, however, compared to seven on Saturday. The total of fatalities remains at 1,571.
Hospitalizations from the virus were put at 534, an increase from 506, while cases being treated in intensive care units dropped slightly from 139 to 138.

- Santa Ana: 14,804 (331)
- Anaheim: 12,922 (384)
- Garden Grove: 4,386 (116)
- Fullerton: 3,663 (113)
- Orange: 3,640 (73)
- Huntington Beach: 3,302 (89)
Westminster has 1,654 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 903 cases and 18 deaths.
