UPDATE: The suspect was arrested and is in custody. According to the GGPD, an investigation is continuing.
Westminster Avenue and Bowen Street in Garden Grove were shut down by police today (Tuesday) at around 1:50 p.m.
According to the GGPD, police are using a helicopter and a K-9 unit to search for an armed suspect. People are urged to stay out of the area and use alternate routes until further notice. Those at home nearby are asked to stay inside with doors and windows locked.
Gas leak in G. Grove neighborhood
A large gas leak was reported around 11 a.m. in the area of Stanford Avenue and Nelson Street, near St. Columbus Catholic Church and school.
Police and fire units responded as well as SoCal Gas. People were urged to avoid the area and use alternate rotes.
