The Anaheim Police Department has arrested three suspects in connection with the Oct. 31, 2020 drive-by shooting at the Sahara Theatre which wounded multiple victims.
On Thursday morning, APD Investigators arrested 34-year-old Edgar Nava-Ayala, 20-year-old Juan Jose Acosta-Soto and 22-year-old Daniel Ocampo Nava for the shooting. All four suspects are Anaheim residents.
The shooting erupted after the group was removed from the Sahara Theatre by security. A red Toyota Camry suspected to be driven by Juan Jose Acosta-Soto and occupied by both remaining suspects returned and drove past the location. Edgar Nava-Ayala is suspected to have indiscriminately fired multiple rounds from an AK-47 style rifle into the business, which was occupied by over 30 individuals at the time. Four victims inside the location suffered gunshot wounds ranging from minor to moderate in severity.
The suspected weapon used in the shooting was recovered during this morning’s police operation. All three suspects have been booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility for multiple counts of attempted murder with a $500,000 bail set for each.
