Hospitalizations still increase

ORANGE COUNTY is seeing new cases fall but hospitalizations rising (Shutterstock).

New cases of coronavirus infections continue to decline in Orange County but increases in the number of patients hospitalized because of COVID-19 and those in intensive care units for that reason continue to rise.

According to the Orange County Health Care Authority’s report on Tuesday, the number of new cases dropped from 3,753 in Monday’s report to 2,233 today. Deaths stayed at two.

However, hospitalizations hit a new high of 1,806 (up from 1,709 on Monday) and ICU patients suffering from the virus rose to 390 from 380, also a record.

  • Anaheim: 22,027 (381)
  • Garden Grove: 8,030 (127)
  • Orange: 6,258 (82)
  • Fullerton: 5,990 (129)
  • Huntington Beach: 5,253 (96)
  • Westminster: 3,401 (38)
  • Stanton: 1,637 (22).
