Hospitals struggle to keep up

While there might be some easing in the new coronavirus cases and deaths in Orange County, local hospitals continue to be besieged by rising numbers of patients.

According to the county health agency, Tuesday’s tally of new cases was 1,376, with no deaths. But hospitalizations continue to spike, rising to 2,236 with 504 patients in intensive care units.

To date, Orange County has had 171,955 COVID-19 cases, of which 100,658 are considered recovered. There have been 1,926 deaths.

Here is the list of the OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 32,110 (380)
  • Anaheim: 29,194 (415)
  • Garden Grove: 10,840 (134)
  • Orange: 8,191 (96)
  • Fullerton: 7,667 (103)
  • Huntington Beach: 6,900 (103)

Westminster has 4,707 and 45 deaths. Stanton has 2,185 cases and 23 deaths.
