An elderly woman and a teenager were fatally injured in a three-car crash Tuesday night in Huntington Beach.

According to Lt. Ryan Reilly of the HBPD, the collision took place at about 6:45 p.m. in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue. Arriving officers found three vehicles, all with extensive damage, in the southbound lanes of PCH south of Warner.

Police say that Eric Kinser, 35, of Sunset Beach, drove a white 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck north on PCH and crossed over the center median into the southbound lanes of traffic. The truck collided head-on with a silver 1999 Toyota Solora driven by a 19-year-old man from Newport Beach and a white 2012 Lexus RX350 driven by a 71-year-old female from Huntington Beach.

The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 45-year-old female passenger in the Lexus was taken to OC Global Medical Center in Santa Ana with moderate injuries.

Kinser was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment and later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the events leading up to and including the collision.
