
NEW CASES of COVID-19 for Orange County reported for Tuesday showed a slight increase in cases but declines in three other categories (Shutterstock).
Three of four major measurements of the status of the coronavirus pandemic in Orange County showed declines, signaling the continuation of a trend.
In Tuesday’s report from the county health agency, new cases showed an increase from 1,330 on Monday to 1,365 on Tuesday. However, that metric is still below Sunday’s count of 1,795.
However, deaths dipped from 66 to 64 and hospitalizations from COVID-19 have declined from 1,703 to 1,677. Patients being treated in intensive care units for the coronavirus fell to 437 from 447.
The cumulative counts of cases in Orange County to date are at 225,983, of which 163,200 are considered recovered. Total deaths are at 2,768.

Westminster has had 6,229 cases and 105 deaths. Stanton has had 2,841 cases and 35 deaths.
