
ORANGE COUNTY had more new cases, but fewer deaths in Friday’s report hospitalizations and ICU use related to coronavirus (Shutterstock).
The count of new cases of coronavirus backslid above the 1,000 mark on Friday, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency’s latest report.
However, the three other major metrics of COVID-19 infections showed improvement.
The number of new cases rose to 1,028, from 602 on Thursday. But deaths declined from 50 to 30 and hospitalizations due to coronavirus ticked down from 1,298 to 1,233. Cases of patients being treated in intensive care units declined to 342 from 365.
Cumulative cases of the virus in Orange County are now at 236,338, of which 195,526 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 3,279.

- Santa Ana: 42,658 (577)
- Anaheim: 39,463 (604)
- Garden Grove: 15,376 (257)
- Orange: 11,110 (164)
- Fullerton: 10,540 (216)
- Huntington Beach: 9,655 (154).
Westminster has had 6,560 cases and 128 deaths. Stanton has had 2,951 cases and 41 deaths.
