According to the SAPD, those arrested were Alfredo Ivan Pulido, 22; Leonel Diaz, 21; and Jason Garcia, 21.
The man killed in the incident was identified as Nick Torres, 23, of Santa Ana.
According to police, the shooting took place after 9 p.m. in the intersection of Bear Street and MacArthur Boulevard. Arriving officers found a vehicle struck by gunfire, occupied by a male and a female at 1600 West MacAthur.
Officer saw apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso of the man, and rendered medical aid until paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived to assume treatment. The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A witness told police that he saw a green sport utility vehicle traveling eastbound on MacArthur accelerate and pull up next to a gray BMW. He said he then heard three to five gunshots. The BMW came to a stop and the SUV sped away southbound on Bear, police were told. Another witness gave a similar account.
Other officers noted a car with a similar description traveling northbound on Harbor Boulevard from Warner Avenue. A traffic stop resulted in detaining three male suspects. After interviewing the three – and on concurrence with the Orange County District Attorney’s office – all three were arrested for murder, assault with firearm on a person and other charges.
Police believe the motive for the shooting to be gang related. Anyone with more information on the case is asked to call SAPD homicide detectives at (714) 245-8390.
