Suspect, 17, held in homicide

A 17-YEAR-OLD Anaheim youth has been arrested in the homicide of another 17-year-old Anaheim resident (Shutterstock).

A 17-year-old Anaheim youth has been arrested in the Feb. 5 fatal shooting of another 17-year-old male, also from Anaheim.

According to the APD, the shooting took place earlier this month at an apartment in the 3000 block of East Jackson Avenue, shortly before 6 p.m.  Arriving officers found the victim suffering from “at least one gunshot wound.” He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Feb. 11, Anaheim homicide detectives made the arrest. Details about the shooting, a motive for the incident and the relationship between the suspect and the victim are being withheld, as well as their names.

The weapon used in the shooting has not been recovered.
