West Grove Center expansions

ARTIST’S RENDERING of proposed additions to the West Grove center on Valley View Street in West Garden Grove.

The West Grove Center, a revitalized shopping and entertainment area on Valley View Street in West Garden Grove, could be going through another growth spurt.

On March 4 a proposal by Cinema Management, Inc., will go before the city planning commission to repurpose a former bowling alley to new retail and restaurant uses.

Also in the proposal is a request to construct a new drive-through coffee store on the site at 12141 Valley View St., south of Chapman Avenue.

The former bowling alley structure would be reduced in size from 33,375 square feet to 19,296-square feet to accommodate an anchor tenant of 12,082-square foot anchor tenant and three new restaurants with a square footage of 7,214 square feet.

Earlier improvements in the center included a car wash, a Jack-in-the-Box drive through restaurant and the renovation of an existing movie theater complex.

The commission will meet at 7 p.m. via teleconference.

  1. We don’t need another drive thru or fast food. We need a nice family restaurant or two, like Gourmet Pie 🥧. cypress, maybe some type of upscale grocery, no more car washes, please no more fast food. Get Pizza Grande to move in there

  2. Jack in the Box, Mc Donald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Carl’s Jr. all within walking distance from each other. NO MORE FAST FOOD JOINTS
