New COVID-19 cases decline

NEW CORONAVIRUS cases declined Sunday in Orange County (Shutterstock).

The number of confirmed new cases of coronavirus cases in Orange County declined on Sunday, while the other three major metrics ticked up modestly.

According to the county health care agency, new cases dropped from 172 on Saturday to 151 on Sunday. Deaths rose to 31 from 26 and hospitalizations from COVID-19 infections increased from 237 to 241.

The use of intensive care units to treat coronavirus patients increased from 71 to 76.

To date, there have been 248,712 cases in Orange County, of which 239,130 are considered recovered. There have been 4,485 deaths.

  • Santa Ana: 44,316 (785)
  • Anaheim: 41,202 (787)
  • Garden Gove: 16,302 (345)
  • Orange: 11,652 (227)
  • Fullerton: 11,136 (271)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,387 (200)
  • Irvine: 10,256 (79)

Westminster has had 7,025 cases and 176 deaths. Stanton has had 3,141 cases and 61 deaths.
