After leaping up on Tuesday, the number of confirmed new coronavirus cases in Orange County plunged on Wednesday.

According to the county health care agency, cases dropped from 127 to 53. The OCHCA report showed decreases in all four major metrics regarding the COVID-19 metric. Deaths declined from four to two. Hospitalizations dropped from 113 to 110 and the use of intensive care units for treating coronavirus cases went from 25 to 23.

To date, the county total of cases is 253,206, of which 245,580 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,902.
