COVID-19 stats continue decline

Statistics measuring the impact of coronavirus on Orange County continued to show a downward glide in Friday’s report from the county health agency.

According to the OCHCA, the number of new cases fell from 69 on Thursday to 65 on Friday. Deaths stay even at eight, but hospitalizations declined from 110 to 100. Patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units went from 22 on Thursday to 15 on Friday.

The to-date total of Orange County cases is at 263,340, of which 245,763 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,918.

Nationally, The New York Times is estimated that – over a two-week period – new cases have declined six percent and deaths by two percent. Statewide, the Los Angeles Times’ statistics show a 15 percent drop in new cases and a 35 percent decrease in deaths in California.
