A MAN suffered fatal injuries crossing a street in Santa Ana (Shutterstock).

A man crossing First Street east of Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana Monday night was fatally struck by a car.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident took place around 10:28 p.m. Responding officers found a man down in the roadway who had sustained major injuries. Orange County Fire Authority personnel treated the man, who was taken to an area hospital where was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the collision.
