Vaccinated? Unmask yourself!

KEEP YOUR MASK on in a bus, or other crowded place. But if you’re full vaccinated and somewhere else, you can take off that mask, the CDC now says (Shutterstock).

You may no longer be “that masked man” now. On Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced it was relaxing its guidance on wearing face coverings as a protection against the coronavirus.

“Today is a great day for America,” said President Joe Biden.

The new guidance says that fully vaccinated people needn’t wear a mask unless they are in crowded indoor settings such as buses, airplanes, hospitals, prisons and homeless shelters.

The change also eliminates the need for social distancing.

“We’ve all longed for this moment,” said Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, “when we can back to some sense of normalcy,” according to the Associated Press.

Business: Prices on an escalator

GASOLINE PRICES aren’t the only thing that’s rising (Pexels/Gustavo Fring).

It’s not just that gasoline that’s getting more expensive. According to USA Today, in the last month, used car prices rose 10 percent, sporting events 10.1 percent and hotel rates 7.6 percent.

The spike could be temporary; a reaction to the COVID-19 impact, but the Federal Reserve is planning to keep its key interest rate near zero until at least 2024.

Tech stocks spur the market: Solid performances by high technology firms helped give Wall Street a second day of gains. The Dow Jones Average rose 433.79 points to 34,021.45. The S&P 500 climbed 49.46 to 4,112.50. Nasdaq gained 93.91 points to 13,124.99.
