With one exception, coronavirus numbers that peaked on Friday have fallen in Tuesday’s report by the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Not included in this comparison is Monday’s report, which combined statistics from three days since the OCHCA no longer posts tallies over the weekend.
New confirmed cases are at 36 on Tuesday, compared to 39 on Friday. Hospitalizations declined from 54 to 51 and the number of people being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units went from 17 to eight. Deaths increased from one to two.
To date, the OC has had 255,958 cases, of which 249,876 are considered recovered. Total deaths are at 5,109.
Across the United States, the number of new cases over the last 14 days has declined 29 percent, according to The New York Times. Deaths are down by 23 percent. In California, cases have declined by 15 percent and deaths by 32 percent over a similar time period, reports the Los Angeles Times.
