A MAN was fatally shot in Santa Ana Friday night (Shutterstock).

Police are investigating a fatal shooting Friday night in Santa Ana.

According to the SAPD, the incident took place in the 1300 block of West Fifth Street. His body was discovered around 10:25 p.m. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

A “shots fired” call was received by the SAPD around 9:27 p.m. when there was a report of a man seen jumping into the backyard of a home on West Fifth Street.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity was not immediately available.
