
FORMER Westminster mayor, city councilmember, school board trustee Margie Rice has passed away at the age of 92 (MCSD photo).
Margie Rice, longtime mayor and city councilmember in Westminster, has died at the age of 92, according to reports.
Rice, who was most recently a member of the board of directors of the Midway City Sanitary District, was mayor of Westminster for 12 years and member of the city council for eight years. Before that she served as a member of the Westminster School District Board of Trustees for 17 and a half years.
She joined the board of the MCSD, which provides waste collection services for Westminster and Midway City, in 1990.
A widow, she had four children, 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Born in 1929, she moved to Westminster in 1956, the year before it was incorporated as a city.
