Condo project before council

A public hearing to consider a development agreement, site plan and related matters for a proposed new 36-unit single-family condominium project will go before the Stanton City Council when it meets on Tuesday.

The project would be built at 7401, 7421 and 7455 Katella Avenue and 10941 and 10921 Western Avenue in a high-density residential and general mixed use overlay zone.

Also on the agenda are:

  • a lease agreement with the owners of the Fernwood Mobile Home Park that would provide 85 additional parking stalls to serve patrons of Stanton Central Park on Western Avenue;
  • the city’s plan for its allocation of $9,123,660 from the federal American Rescue Plan;
  • an update and discussion of steps taken by the city to address homelessness in Stanton as well as resources being offered to the unsheltered by the city;
  • discussion of a proposal by Mayor Dave Shawver to authorize and allow the city attorney to assist in the prosecution of local laws.

The council will meet in person in its chambers in the Civic Center, 7800 Katella Ave. (west of Beach Boulevard) at 6:30 p.m.
