The Stanton City Council gave final approval of an ordinance clearing the way for a new residential community on Tuesday night.

The council voted 5-0 in favor of an ordinance originally introduced on July 27 for a development agreement with KB Home Coastal Inc. for a 2.55-acre site at Western and Katella avenues.

What are planned there are 36 three-bedroom condominium units with amenities, along with at least 131 parking spaces. The units would be about 1,771 square feet in size.

Also on Tuesday night, the council:

  • approved on a 4-1 vote (Councilmember Rigoberto Ramirez abstaining) the hiring of Best Best & Krieger for the purpose of preparing redistricting maps for the next council election cycles;
  • approved on a 5-0 vote an ordinance regarding camping, oversize vehicle parking, vacant and foreclosed properties and public nudity.

In the latter case, the ordinance prohibits public nudity for all except children under the age of 10, or females “engaged in the breastfeeding of a child.”
