Garden Grove High’s football team improved its record to 2-1 with a lopsided 48-0 win over Gahr High of Cerritos at Monsoor Stadium Friday afternoon.
The game, which was rescheduled from Thursday night, had a rare 4 p.m. start, and the winner was obvious early. The Argonauts led 21-0 after one quarter and 41-0 at the half.
The rest of the game was played with a running clock and Argo Coach Ricardo Cepeda substituted freely. Argo fans were treated to some spectacular big plays, especially by Dominck Brito, who scored on 101-yard interception return and a 55-yard punt return.
Gahr’s record fell to 0-2.
Grove will be back in action next Friday, Sept. 17 hosting El Toro in another pre-league contest. Big 4 League play starts on Friday, Oct. 15 when the Argos host Katella High’s Knights.
