Three of four measurements of the coronavirus in Orange County showed continued improvement, but the number of deaths is stubbornly stable.
According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, the number of new cases in its Wednesday report is at 352, down from 391 on Tuesday. Hospitalizations dropped from 372 to 368 and the number of patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units slid to 103 from 105.
However, deaths rose to 10 from seven, even with Monday’s total.
In Orange County to date, the number of cases of coronavirus is at 292,124 and of those, 275,111 are considered recovered. The death total is at 5,326.
The nation numbers – as calculated by The New York Times – show cases down 5 percent and deaths up by 40 percent, over 14 days. In California, Los Angeles Times (over a similar period) cases are down 38 percent and deaths up by 50 percent.
