The number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus cases in Orange County plunged from Monday’s three-day average of 222 to 162 to Tuesday.
According to the county health care agency, deaths declined from 10 (a three-day total) on Monday to three on Tuesday.
The OCHCA also reported that hospitalizations rose from 175 to 185 and the use of intensive care units to treat COVID-19 patients went from 34 to 32.
So far, Orange County has had 302,016 cases of coronavirus, of which 290,459 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 5,531.
Across the nation, The New York Times is reporting that new cases – over a 14-day period – have fallen 20 percent and deaths by 11 percent.
In California, cases have declined 25 percent with deaths at a zero percent change (over a similar period), according to Los Angeles Times.
