Confirmed new cases of coronavirus in Orange County declined in Thursday’s report but remained above 300 for the second consecutive day.
According to the county health care agency, cases are at 314, down from 355 on Wednesday. Deaths remained level at four and hospitalization dropped from 200 to 195.
The number of patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units increased from 49 to 53.
To date, Orange County has had 304,368 cases, of which 292,948 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 5,592.
At the national level, The New York Times is reporting that new cases are down 19 percent and deaths by 15 percent. In California, Los Angeles Times reports that new cases are up by 2 percent and deaths by 4 percent. In each instance, the statistics are tracked over a 14-day period.
