2 dead in Seal Beach crashes

TWO PEOPLE have died in traffic mishaps in Seal Beach (Shutterstock).

A man and a woman died in separate automobile accidents in Seal Beach in recent days.

The first incident occurred on Thursday at around 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Seal Beach Boulevard and St. Andrews Drive. According to the SBPD, two vehicles collided and both drivers and one passenger were taken to local hospitals.

One of the drivers, a woman, died at the hospital from her injuries.

The other driver, identified as German Juarez, 29, of Los Angeles, suffered minor injuries. He was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and felony driving under the influence. After treatment, he was booked into Orange County Jail.

Injuries to the passenger were not life-threatening.

In the second incident, a speeding vehicle crashed into a tree in a center median on Seal Beach Boulevard early Saturday morning and the driver suffered fatal injuries.

According to the SBPD, the driver was identified as Anthony Minton, 24, of Los Angeles. The incident took place around 1:20 a.m. near Westminster Avenue.

Officers said they saw the vehicle northbound  moving at “a high rate of speed.” The driver lost control and the car hit the tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

It’s unknown whether alcohol or drugs were associated with the crash.
