Edison High’s football team was knocked out of the CIF-SS Division 2 quarterfinals by Inglewood 22-16 on Friday night.
The Chargers, who finished the season 8-4, led at one point, but couldn’t withstand two fourth quarter TDs by the Sentinels (11-0). Edison scores came on a 13-yard run by Troy Fletcher and a 4-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Gioia to Tyler Hampton.
Loara advanced to the Division 14 semifinals with a 21-7 win over Pomona. The Saxons (6-6) were the fourth place team in the Garden Grove League but are now just one win away from the championship finals. Loara will face Alhambra (6-6) in the next round on Nov. 19.
In Division 9 play, Western lost 52-27 to Colony.
