A 39-year-old Garden Grove man was arrested Thursday for allegedly robbing two convenience stores in November.

TIEN VAN VO (GGPD)

According to Detective Sgt. Evan Beresford of the GGPD, the suspect is Tien Van Vo. When arrested, he was already in Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on related charges.

Police say that Vo held up two AM/PM MiniMarts on Nov. 14. The first incident was in the 13500 block of Brookhurst Street at 3:50 a.m. A suspect, pointing a black semiautomatic pistol at the clerk, got $500 from the cash register and fled on foot.

The second incident was in the 13500 block of Euclid Street at 5:48 a.m. The suspect threw a bag on the counter and – simulating a gun in his waistband – demanded money and cigarettes in the bag. He took about $350 in cash and the total loss was an estimated $950.

Detectives used the description of the suspect and evidence left at the scene to identify Vo and make the arrest.
