
ONE PERSON is dead after a fire Friday morning in the Huntington Harbour area (HBFD photo).
A blaze Friday morning in the Huntington Harbour area left one person dead and damaged a structure.
According to Jennifer Carey, public information officer for the Huntington Beach Police Department, the blaze was reported at about 10 a.m. at the 16000 block of Harbour Lane.
Huntington Beach Fire Department crews were notified that potential victims might be trapped inside. Arriving HBFD units found a deceased male in front of the home who appeared to have been taken there by a neighbor.
Firefighters attacked the blaze and entered the building in search of other victims, Adjoining structures were evacuated and no other victims were found. No other buildings were damaged.
By 11:15 a.m. HBFD crews confirmed the fire was out. The cause is under investigation and the HBPD is working with the fire department to investigate the incident and fatality.
