A speeding car attracted the attention of Garden Grove police motorcycle officers Sunday and that led to the arrest of the driver and the confiscation of drugs, weapons and ammunitions.
According to the GGPD, the incident took place in the area of Chapman Avenue and Medina Drive (west of Euclid Street). The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have a suspended license. As officers inventoried the car – previous to having it towed – they found 3.7 grams of cocaine.
The driver was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail.
Further searching the vehicle, officers found an unregistered and unserialized AR-15 rifle, a Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum pistol, a high-capacity magazine, ammunition and nunchucks.
Later, it was found that the driver – being a convicted felon – was prohibited from owning any of those items.
