GARDEN GROVE and Western each advanced to CIF-SS championship games Friday with semifinal wins on Tuesday (Shutterstock).

With its 45-39 semifinal win over Sunny Hills in the Lancer gym Tuesday night, the Garden Grove High boys’ basketball team advanced to the CIF-SS Division 4AA championship game on Friday.

The Argonauts (now 21-9) will play Fullerton (17-14), which defeated Artesia 58-56 in the other semifinal.

Also bound to play for a CIF-SS title is Western High of Anaheim, as the Pioneers defeated Edgewood 55-33 in a 4A semifinal.

In the other Final Four games, Edison fell 67-48 to La Mirada in a Division 2A game, and La Quinta lost 67-48 to Riverside Prep in 5A semifinal contest.

In CIF-SS Division 1 boys’ soccer, Servite defeated Huntington Beach 2-0 in a semifinal match.
