Three of five local high school basketball teams posted wins in the first round of the CIF Southern California Regionals on Tuesday.

BOYS

In Division II play, Edison edged Mission Bay 64-63.

In Division IV action, Garden Grove lost to Los Angeles CES 54-39 and Western was defeated by Golden Valley 50-34.

In Division V, La Quinta bested Rosamond 65-39.

GIRLS

Orangewood Academy opened Division I action with a 62-48 victory over Mount Miguel.

Second round action will take place on Thursday.
