Three of four measurements of the status of the coronavirus in Orange County saw increases on Wednesday.

According to the county health care agency, the count of confirmed new cases reached 385, up from Tuesday’s 257. Deaths rose from eight to 11.

The number of patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units went from 35 to 37.

However, hospitalizations declined from 223 to 217.

So far, Orange County has had 539,236 cases, of which 520,699 are considered recovered. The total of deaths is at 6,628.

Nationally, The New York Times reports that – over a 14-day period – new cases are down 58 percent, and deaths by 18 percent. In California, cases are down 68 percent and deaths by 21 percent, according to the Los Angeles Times.
