Pedestrian killed in hit-and run

A FEMALE pedestrian was fatally struck by a car while walking in Stanton on Friday evening (Shutterstock).

The public’s help is sought in identifying the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Stanton on Friday night.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department – which provides police services for Stanton ­– a woman died after being hit by a car around 8:45 p.m. while walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Dale Street.

The vehicle description from the OCSD is “smaller in size, and possibly dark green.” It left the scene.

The pedestrian is a 68-year-old woman who was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity will be released after official confirmation from the Orange County Coroner and notification of her next of kin.
