In Wednesday’s statistics on the coronavirus in Orange County one category showed improvement and setbacks in the rest.
According to the county health care agency, confirmed new cases increased from 215 to 311. Deaths increased from 11 to 26.
Hospitalizations rose from 133 to 137. The number of people being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units fell from 29 to 27.
To date, Orange County has had 544,113 cases, of which 532,219 are considered recovered. The total of deaths is 6,820.
At the national level, The New York Times is reporting that – over a 14-day period – new cases have declined by 43 percent and deaths by 31 percent. In California, Los Angeles Times reports new cases down 53 percent and deaths down 33 percent.
