Westminster police are urging citizens to share any information they may have about a motorist suspected of harassing a 14-year-old girl on Monday (today).

According to Commander Kevin MacCormack of the WPD, the incident occurred at around 8:20 a.m. in the area of Edwards and Humboldt streets. A pupil was walking to school when she was approached by a suspect asking if she wanted a ride.

The vehicle pulled up next to the girl, and the driver rolled down his window and was “persistently asking the victim [if she wanted] a ride.” The girl was followed as she walked to the school and the car eventually left the scene.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 30 years old, with a shaved head. The suspect vehicle was a white sedan with tinted windows and a partial license plate of 4C*****.

Arriving at her school, the girl notified officials there, who called the WPD. While there are no other reports of a similar incident in the area, one was reported in Stanton on March 18. It’s unknown if the two cases are related.

WPD detectives are asking witnesses to call (714) 548-3212.
