Murder victim, suspect ID’d

The victim and the suspect from Sunday’s homicide in Anaheim have been identified.

According to the APD, the decedent is Amado Francisco Lopez-Martinez, 34, of Anaheim. His body was found inside a vehicle in the 1500 block of W. Ball Road in Anaheim around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Exiting the same vehicle was Jorge Escamilia, 24, of Anaheim.

Lopez-Martinez had suffered stab wounds. A knife was recovered at the scene and Escamilla was booked at the Anaheim City Jail on suspicion of murder in lieu of $1 million bail.

The relationship between the two is not being disclosed at this time, nor is a possible motive for the crime. Anyone with information about Escamilla or his activities is urged to contact APD homicide detectives at (714) 321-3669.
