Head-on crash kills man, 82

AN 82-YEAR-OLD man died after a head-on crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach.

An elderly man was killed in Huntington Beach today (Tuesday) when his car collided head-on with another vehicle.

According to the Jessica Cuchilla, public information officer for the HBPD, the accident took place on Pacific Coast Highway north of Goldenwest Street.

Police were dispatched to the scene at about 12:30 p.m. A 2005 Toyota Camry heading southbound on PCH crossed over the raised median into northbound traffic and collided with a 2013 Volkswagen GTI.

The driver of the Camry, an 82-year-old Seal Beach man, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the GTI, a 25-year-old woman from Huntington Beach, sustained injuries not considered life-threatening and was taken to a local hospital.

Police say it’s unclear whether drugs of alcohol were factors in the incident.
