Russia’s attacks into Donetsk in the east of Ukraine persisted on Thursday as air strikes and missile fire continued.
However, the invaders appeared to have made no forward progress on the ground. The Russian defense ministry called the pause an “opportunity to rest” and “replenish their combat capabilities.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told CNN that his country would not officially concede any part of its territory to Russia and mocked its military results. “I don’t even understand what exactly they’re controlling there. They ruined towns, schools. They are occupiers of the rubble?”
