A “failed dating relationship” may be the motive behind the stabbing murder of a 51-year-old Santa Ana woman on Friday.
According to the SAPD, the victim is Maria Guadalupe Mota.
Arrested for murder was Ignacio Vasquez Morales, 40, of Santa Ana. A knife was recovered at the scene of the incident.
On Friday at 11:41 a.m., police receiving notice of a stabbing in progress in the 200 block of north Gunther Place. Responding officers found a woman suffering from a stab wound to her upper torso.
Orange County Fire Authority firefighter paramedics arrived and took the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
