A confrontation between Anaheim police and a man accused of beating a woman led to gunfire early Friday morning, but no one was shot.

According to the APD, the incident took place in the 2700 block of West Parkside Lane near Boisseranc Park and south of the Artesia (91) Freeway. Officers responded to an Anaheim area hospital around 12:19 a.m. to investigate a report of a domestic violence incident.

There they spoke to a 30-year-old woman who had suffered “various  physical injuries.” She identified her boyfriend – Gonzalo Dominguez, 35 – as her assailant. The woman warned officers he owned several firearms.

Just as APD officers arrived at the suspect’s home, they received word that Dominguez was “threatening to shoot someone.”

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., he left his home through the garage holding an AR-15-style assault rifle. A confrontation occurred and an officer-involved shooting took place, but no one was wounded. The suspect retreated back into his house.

Negotiation with the suspect concluded with Dominguez surrendering at 3:24 a.m. He was arrested for a variety of charges including domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a police officer.
