Ten people were fatally stabbed and 15 wounded in a series of attacks in Saskatchewan, Canada on Sunday.
According to the Associated Press, the stabbings took place in several locations on a native Canadian nation and the village of Weldon.
Suspects in the attacks are Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30.
Authorities indicated that while some of the victims were targeted, some appeared to have been attacked at random.
The search continues with multiple law enforcement agencies involved.
Two dead in Northern California fire
A wildfire that decimated the town of Weed in Northern California took the lives of two people.
The Mills Fire has made over 1,000 people homeless and knocked out electrical power, but progress is being made in containing the blaze. The nearby Mountain Fire is growing, however, according t00 fire officials.
Also in the news … Gustavo Arnal, chief financial officer for Bed Bath and Beyond leaped to his death Sunday from his 18th floor New York City apartment, according to CNN. The company is experiencing financial difficulties and may be facing bankruptcy.
Sports: Ohtani too much for Astros
Shohei Ohtani pitched eight strong innings on Saturday and yielded just six hits and no runs as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Houston Astros in Anaheim.
Matt Duffy’s RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning drove in Taylor Ward with the winning run and a 2-1 walkoff victory.
The Halos were less successful Sunday, losing 9-1 to the Astros.
On Saturday, the Dodgers slammed the San Diego Padres 12-1. Those teams are playing again today, with the Dodgers winning 9-4.
Weather: No thunderstorm, but ….
The West Orange County area didn’t get the thunderstorm that some agencies predicted for Sunday, but it was plenty warm with a high of 100 in some parts.
The forecast for Monday is for a high of 96 (overnight low of 73) under sunny skies. Tuesday will be a bit cooler at 91 (72) with sun, and Wednesday a bit warmer at 94 (72). The coming weekend should see highs in the mid-80s and “isolated thunderstorms,”
