10% raise for OVSD employees

OCEAN VIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT Education Center (OVSD).

The Ocean View School District Board of Trustees has approved a new compensation package for all employees that includes a 10% salary increase, retroactive to July 1, 2022. The package also includes a 2% increase toward the district contribution for benefits with a new CalPERS health insurance plan, which provides:

• Individual Employee: $11,400

• Employee + 1: $17,150

• Family: $21,450

Gina Clayton-Tarvin, president of the OVSD board, commented, “This new compensation package is phenomenal and will make a real difference in the lives of our employees. The district has not been able to provide a double-digit raise for employees in more than 20 years, and we are thrilled to be able to do this for our deserving staff.”

Superintendent Dr. Michael Conroy said, “These are tough economic times, and an increase inwages and better benefits for our employees couldn’t come at a more fortuitous time. I’d like to sincerely thank our board of trustees for making this happen.”

Both the certificated and classified unions in OVSD unanimously approved the new compensation package contract.
