According to USA Today, U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Thursday denied a request from a Texas group to block the program.

Under the plan, student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients up to $20,000 could be cancelled and $10,000 for other loans for people earning up to $125,000 a year or part of a household with total earnings of no more than $250,000.

Millions of former students could be affected.
