Don’t vote early, say some

There might be some slow counts in elections this Nov. 8 across the nation.

According to the Associated Press, Republican activists are asking GOP voters to forgo early voting but instead cast their ballots on Election Day.

The purpose is the avoid what conspiracy theorists claim is a method to prevent Democrats from cheating in the general election. Although there’s been no credible evidence of fraud in any recent campaign, many Republicans believe that in 2022 Donald Trump was the victim of millions of manufactured ballots cast for Joe Biden.

If voters do wait to vote in person or hand in their mail-in ballots at the polling place, it could mean major slow-downs in the processing and reporting of results.

At least a dozen Russian missiles rained on targets in Ukraine as the invaders struck at power plans and other infrastructure on Saturday.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that damage was done on a “very wide” scale, according to Reuters. He said that his air force has managed to knock down most of the cruise missiles and drones launched at his country and expected better results when Western allies provide promised air defense systems.

Elsewhere in the war, Ukrainian forces are reported to continue to make progress in pushing Russians out of the southern Kherson region. Russians are urging civilians to leave the city of Kherson, which may soon become an urban battleground.
