A Norwalk man jumped to his death off the Huntington Beach Pier Sunday evening.

According to Jennifer Carey, public relations manager for the City of Huntington Beach, at about 6:30 p.m. police responded to a report of two people leaping from the pier into the ocean.

Arriving police officers and paramedics found an unresponsive man, now identified as Fenton Dee III, 44, who had been pulled ashore by surfers.

He was treated at the scene and taken to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach where he was declared deceased.

The second jumper, a 36-year-old woman, made it to the shore and was not injured. The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released.
